Our solar temporary lighting towers and generators are being utilised across the arts industry including television (TV), film production, outdoor events and festivals, to reduce the reliance on traditional diesel tower lights and generators.
The events industry is responsible for millions of tonnes of CO2 emissions every year in the UK. Event organisers and production houses are being challenged to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility by embracing renewable energy solutions, such as our innovative solar lighting towers and hybrid generators.
Our ProPower Solar Hybrid Generator offers significant long-term cost savings compared to traditional diesel generators, as it requires minimal fuel and therefore has much less maintenance requirements. While the initial investment may be higher, on average customers are cost neutral after 29 months and will save over £16,000 per annum thereafter compared to traditional diesel generators.
Utilising our ProPower Solar Hybrid Generator provides production businesses with an easy-to-deploy, off-grid power solution. Allowing more flexibility for remote and off-grid location sets to be used, which have no access to electricity and wanting to avoid the noise and noxious smells of diesel alternatives.
Unlike noisy diesel generators, our solar generator operates silently at night when drawing power from the batteries, creating a quieter and more comfortable environment for events and productions. This is especially beneficial for outdoor events, concerts, and film productions where noise pollution can detract from the experience and disrupt performances.
Our solar generator is equipped with 10 lithium-ion batteries that store excess energy generated during daylight hours, ensuring a reliable power supply at night.
Since we launched our first temporary lighting tower in 2016, we have saved our customers over £10m in fuel costs and avoided over 27m kgs of carbon from being emitted into the atmosphere. Our tower lights, save customers over £3,000 per annum compared to the next most efficient option on the market.
Our ProLight Solar Tower Light uses zero fuel. So not only do our customers save on fuel costs but they can eliminate the need for operatives to regularly handle diesel to refuel the tower lights and the potential for spillages is removed, simplifying operations. With no diesel engine our lights require a lot less maintenance and servicing, generally every 6 months only, making them a truly ‘setup and forget’ technology.
We have invested in making our solar lighting towers the smartest in the market. We have made all of our lighting towers autonomous enabling them to self-manage, ensuring the light works as long and as late as you do. We are the proof that solar technology has been finely honed over the past decades and works all year round, whatever the weather, as proven in Scotland!
Our ProLight Lighting Tower operates silently, meaning no noise to disturb your environment, allowing event organisers to embrace sustainability and communicate their own green credentials to their audiences.
The ProPower unit managed itself – I could predict when it would need fuel, so it took very little of my time to manage. We were typically refuelling only every 3 months, versus weekly on a diesel generator. Through summer it didn’t need any at all. Once we sorted one minor issue (someone pushed the emergency stop button), there were no noise complaints. It’s a step in the right direction – we’re not releasing carbon when we don’t need to.
Working with Prolectric has transformed the A417 ‘Missing Link’ project. Their team understood our challenges and provided innovative, sustainable solutions exceeding our expectations. The transition was seamless, delivering significant cost savings and reducing our carbon footprint without compromising performance.
Remote monitoring has improved efficiency, while reduced noise and emissions has created a better working environment. The fuel savings – over 75% in some cases – demonstrate the real-world impact of these technologies.
In just a few months, our partnership has saved over £250,000, with projected annual savings exceeding £638,000. By adopting Prolectric’s Solar Hybrid Generators and Solar Lighting solutions, we are on track to cut over 800,000 kg of CO2e per year, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and smarter, cleaner construction practices.
Prolectric’s expertise and support have made this transition effortless. Their solutions have set a new standard for powering major infrastructure projects.
Following our extensive engagement with the market to find a solution that was fit for purpose, a partnership developed with Prolectric which has enabled us to create a unique product and solution that matched our requirements and exceeded expectation. The Prolectric team were willing to invest significant time and resource to the project, to understand our specific needs. Additional confidence was then secured during the trial period. We trialled others, but Prolectric gave us the innovation, as well as the assurance and the commitment we needed.
Our experience with Prolectric has been nothing short of exceptional. Their ProLight Solar Lighting Towers have proven to be extremely reliable, even during the challenging winter months when daylight hours are limited. This reliability is crucial for our operations, ensuring continuous surveillance and security throughout the year. Prolectric’s commitment to quality and innovation shines through in their products. The ProLight not only provide efficient lighting but also serve as a sturdy base for our CCTV systems. This integration has significantly enhanced our security infrastructure, providing SmartWatch and their clients with peace of mind knowing that their assets are protected around the clock. We wholeheartedly recommend Prolectric as a reliable and trusted supplier.
We started working with Prolectric around 5 years ago – we were aware that they were leaders in providing Solar Lighting Columns and wanted to understand whether the technology could be used to power off-grid remote CCTV solutions. We were impressed with the build quality and the safety aspects of the products – electrically and especially with no manual handling of heavy batteries which so many similar solutions required. We have continued to work with Prolectric to develop our solutions; we have fed back ideas to make the units even better and these have been taken onboard and incorporated into the latest versions. Overall, a great innovative company to work with.
